5 Medical Coding Facebook Profiles You Should Be Following

In the latest post on our series of social media profiles you should be following—we’ve done Instagram, YouTube and more in the past—we’re turning our sights to the most popular social media channel in the world: Facebook. With approximately 2.5 billion users, Facebook dwarfs the next-biggest social media channel (Reddit, which has 430 million active users).

1. Medical Coding Geek

More than 10,000 people follow this page, which is hosted by a private medical coding consultant. You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at medical coding and insights from a medical coding veteran with 15 years of experience. Posts often integrate medical codes with funny videos for humor that only those in the industry will appreciate.

2. WebMD

If images, graphics and videos are your cup of tea, WebMD is a great follow. They’re both informative and engaging and a great profile to follow if you’re involved in the medical industry in any way. For coders, this page helps you stay updated on major medical updates and increases your medical knowledge in general.

3. JOBS for Medical Coders

This is a private group, so you’ll need to apply to get in, but once you do, you’ll have a great resource for furthering your career. Whether you’re a medical coder in training, a new medical coder or a seasoned professional, this group is a great resource for finding your next fulfilling medical coding or billing position.

4. AAPC

While the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) likes to keep things serious on other channels, they get a little more casual on Facebook. You’ll still get plenty of insights and tips about medical coding, but there are plenty of laid-back posts and live videos as well.

5. Medical Coding Academy

Just as we are on Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms, Medical Coding Academy is an active participant on Facebook.
