Last summer I was told about a... read more lady who travelled the country and taught medical coding in a weekend. I thought if something is medically related, how can it be taught in a weekend? I hemmed and hawed about it and decided to try it. I had no medical background other than personal and familial experience. She and her wonderful staff sent me a packet and to be completely honest, I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of information that they expect you to have completed before you even get there. Acting on faith I completed every thing and made the drive to Dallas for her class. It was intense to say the least! Mrs. Ortega is one of the most amazing women I have ever met. Due to unforseen circumstances, I was unable to test before the end of the year when guidelines changed. Months later I decided to try again and I'm so glad that I did. Mrs. Ortega is one of those people you just have to like. She's so talented and giving. She really cares for each and every one of us that comes her way. If you don't understand something she will sit there and explain it till you get it. She's not one of those people who are just in it for the money. This is a very lucrative market and she's the best at making sure you get in it! She really goes above and beyond what most teachers are willing to do to make sure you get the best experience. I cannot stress enough: DO THE PREWORK!!! Expect 2 hours of homework. DO THE HOMEWORK!!! It WILL be worth it! Thank you Mrs. Ortega for doing what you do and for being the person you are. This 3-day course is brutal, starting with the pre-work all the way to the end of the 3rd day. How bad do YOU want it? You will get out of this as much as you put forth. If you are "IN", so is Mrs. Ortega! Utilize her wealth of knowledge to the fullest and LISTEN to what she teaches. She's a "tough cookie" but you have to be in order to deliver the amount of information taught in this course. She goes go out of her way to ensure everyone understands the concepts. I was informed about this program in Jan of 2020 and it has been nothing short of a wonderful experience! From the staff, Mrs. Ortega and the knowledge that she provides for preparing you for your Coding Certification. I was given so much information that I needed from the beginning to the end, and although I have not taken my exam yet which is scheduled for both 6/18 & 6/19 due to covid-19 I feel more than ready to take the test!!! I will forever be Thankful for Mrs. Ortega & her wonderful staff for providing such a full proof program! I am looking forward to continuing my education with her & getting more certifications via her knowledge & programs! Well i'm here to say that its TRUE! she CAN teach you how to do it. And she is excellent at it. She really knows what she is doing and has mastered the skill in teaching everything you will need to know to pass the CPC (and then some). i am extremely greatful i found Ms. Ortega. I passed the CPC exam just 1 month after taking her class. I look forward to taking more classes for more credentials from her. Her style of teaching is like no other. I have an extensive Ophthalmic background,... read more with a small amount of coding knowledge, but nothing like what I learned. 3 days packed full of learning from Miss Ortega, who is a fountain of information. Long days and nights to ensure you have all you need to pass your test and start a new career. If you don’t want to work hard for 3 days I would suggest taking a college course for 18 months instead. I took my test on June 1st and PASSED!!!!!!! Now working on my resume and the rest of my workbook that we were given. A humongous thanks to Miss Ortega and the crew.
