She breaks everything down in so many ways to help you understand, and she is not satisfied until you fully comprehend what she is trying to teach. You will leave the course ready and fully prepared to enter the medical coding world, and I can assure you, that you WILL pass the test if you just do the pre-work, homework and pay attention in class! There is a lot of ground to cover. At the end of it all, your ears may bleed, your eyeballs may fall out of your sockets, and your fingers will be crooked, but once it’s all over, your dreams will finally come to fruition! Don’t second guess yourself or have any doubts about taking this course. Bottom line, if you want to get ahead in life, you must take chances, right? Mrs. Ortega is one of the BEST instructors out there, and she is also one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Mrs. Ortega and her... read more team did an amazing job with the production and put together a jaw dropping amount of information and materials for each student. Mrs. Ortega is thorough and decisive throughout the course. She keeps your attention and is very to the point, focusing in everything you need to pass the board exam. The 350 Cases textbook is honestly a blessing. It breaks down each and every case so you can easily understand the material and Mrs. Ortega is with you every step of the way going through all 350 on video with you. She clarifies everything with ease and to the best of her ability for full understanding. I would love to attend the 3-day course as well just because!-Double the learning but this will unfortunately depend now on the covid situation. Regardless, even if I can't attend the 3-day, I know with the MCA coding online course I have been given all the information I need to sit for the board exam. Listening and doing everything Mrs. Ortega says and putting in the work is key! After finishing the course and being an MCA "Go-To" coder, I know that I have a huge advantage to passing the national exam over the traditional classroom student. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication Mrs. Ortega and the MCA family, you are so appreciated.

She has the experience, the knowledge, and the passion... read more that you can count on to secure a spot as a certified Coder. The class was interactive, no student was left behind. She broke everything down and made sure you were prepared. I've tried college Coding courses, AAPC's online class, and I still failed the board exam each time (2x). Needless to say, I felt like I was never going to get my certification. But after completing the 3-day course, my confidence was sky-high. I sat in for my CPC in February 2016, and not only did I complete the exam in under the given 5 hours and 40 minutes, I PASSED!! Words can't describe how grateful I am to have met Mrs. Ortega! :)

  • I originally was VERY hesitant to sign up for any online course when you hear about all the scams out there. I signed up for a course at a... read more local school that would have taken 9 months to complete to then be prepared to take the CPC. I never researched any online courses out of fear. I then was really feeling like I was wasting time waiting for my classes to begin and started researching more. I found Medical Coding Academy and the rest is history! I requested a refund back from the school I enrolled in right away. Belen was so amazing to help me navigate signing up and answering all of my skeptical questions. I am proud to say that 3.5 weeks after starting my online courses I passed my CPC exam with an 83%! Listen, nothing worthwhile is easy. The program is not designed to rush through it etc. I was only able to finish so much coursework so fast because I studied full time at least 8 hours a day. I am currently out of work and was able to dedicate my every moment into this. Mrs. Ortega tells you exactly what you need to do. Follow her instructions. Another tip is to pause the video and work out the case prior to her going through it. Then see if you got the correct answer. This took exponentially longer but sure paid off in the long run. It is challenging but she explains it so well and in detail. It will feel overwhelming in the beginning but it all comes full circle just keep pushing. I also recorded myself reading my notes as well as flash cards. I would go walking and have them playing to help me study on the go. You will have to work but she gives you every tool you need. If you want to pass your test and understand guidelines etc then take this course. I am excited for my future and to see where this takes me! Thank you Mrs. Ortega for developing a curriculum that kept my attention and was methodical. Thank you Belen for standing by to help me with any questions or support I needed! PS I am still waiting for my prior school to issue a refund check! I already finished my course and passed my test! How amazing is that!? You get out of it what you put in so remember that!
