All of the staff and instructors at Medical Coding Academy have a heart for the students! They don’t take your investment lightly! They invest in you and give you all the strategies to succeed! My best advice if you are on the fence... RUN don’t walk and sign up! When you sign up do ALL of the Pre-work and classwork, it is essential to your success! If possible I recommend staying on site even if you are local (you’ll be glad you did). It really is AMAZING!

I watched every video on Medical Coding Academy's channel and became convinced that medical coding could be the new career I needed. Still, I was a little skeptical. How could I learn all the tools I needed to become a certified coder in three days when the other programs I researched required one to two years? The task seemed impossible until I read reviews from her former students. Like me, they had their doubts in the beginning, but after experiencing Mrs. Ortega’s unique method of teaching, I decided that if all these people could do the unthinkable, so could I. I registered for the three day course that took place in February and now, less than a month later, I’m CPC certified! I passed the exam on the very first try. Before the course, I had absolutely no knowledge of the medical field. Becoming certified took a lot of hard work on limited sleep, but it was all worth it. Mrs. Ortega is a miracle worker and I can’t wait to earn more certifications under her steadfast tutelage. I was struggling trying to pass the CPC (Certified Professional Coder) exam. Then when a friend mentioned Mrs. Ortega’s class the “Medical Coding Academy” to me; yes, at first there was a little doubt but I had to walk out on faith and trust the God in me. If you come prepared and open to learn, you will be excited to want more of her knowledge. I will say one thing, THAT YOU MUST DO YOUR TO DO LIST AND HOMEWORK!! You will struggle in class. You will get no sleep trying to catch up and do the work she assigns you. I would like to thank Mrs. Ortega for getting me excited to want to move even further in this industry. First, let me say that I was very skeptical about doing it. I found the Academy on You Tube and most people would find it very unlikely that it could work. But my gut told me to go for it! I flew to Dallas from MN and took the 3 day CPC course. I'll admit I was very nervous on day one. What if I made the wrong decision? I am very happy to report that Mrs. Ortega is exactly as she appears online and her class is exactly as she describes it. Now, if you are looking for the easy way…this isn’t it. If you are looking for the smart way, then you’ve found it! The reason this works is because the curriculum is put together intelligently and effectively. It’s not magic, it’s strategy and very hard work. I was able to go from absolutely no knowledge of this industry to taking the CPC board exam and finishing 45 minutes early in only 3 days! It's not a vacation. Be prepared to be thinking hard and absorbing information all day every day. Then enjoy getting to use that education immediately at the exam! I feel such a sense of accomplishment and I can’t thank the staff at MCA enough. These people work so hard for us, it’s crazy! I’ve gone to community college before, and I never got from it what was provided in these 3 days. Mrs. Ortega teaches this course because it is her passion and she cares about helping people in the way she knows how, and you don’t find that very often.
