I saw an... read more ad in my email address from Medical Coding Academy about the online course. I’ve seen the ad before throughout the years, but this time it looked something I really wanted to do. So I contacted MCA and got my information about the program. I purchased my books (CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM) through Elsevier and I never went through with purchasing the program through MCA. I had doubts about the program, and I didn’t go through with it. So I returned the books and went through another self-paced program. BIG MISTAKE!!! Their program was so long and so boring I wasn’t able to finish it. To top it all off, I couldn’t even afford it so now I’m currently paying off the loan. On November 2020, I got an ad stating that the 2020 online course was on sale for $899. I didn’t have anything to lose, so I purchased the course and it was the best thing I have ever done! The course is put together so well. Mrs. Ortega goes over everything for example what to highlight in the book, how to tab the books, what materials you need to study every day, and online help from teachers if you need it. If you buy this program, DO EXACTLY WHAT SHE SAYS!!! If you do, you will pass your exam. I started the program November 8 and finished December 13 and took my exam December 19 and I passed my CPC exam with a 90%! I would like to thank Mrs. Ortega and the MCA team for the incredible work she has put into this program and for helping me to pass my exam and to start my new career as a medical coder.

She alerted the student when it was necessary to read the whole medical case documentation. With the Evaluation and Management section I was quite impressed on how she labeled the CPT manual in order to figure out the leveling with confidence.
