Last summer I was told about a... read more lady who travelled the country and taught medical coding in a weekend. I thought if something is medically related, how can it be taught in a weekend? I hemmed and hawed about it and decided to try it. I had no medical background other than personal and familial experience. She and her wonderful staff sent me a packet and to be completely honest, I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of information that they expect you to have completed before you even get there. Acting on faith I completed every thing and made the drive to Dallas for her class. It was intense to say the least! Mrs. Ortega is one of the most amazing women I have ever met. Due to unforseen circumstances, I was unable to test before the end of the year when guidelines changed. Months later I decided to try again and I'm so glad that I did. Mrs. Ortega is one of those people you just have to like. She's so talented and giving. She really cares for each and every one of us that comes her way. If you don't understand something she will sit there and explain it till you get it. She's not one of those people who are just in it for the money. This is a very lucrative market and she's the best at making sure you get in it! She really goes above and beyond what most teachers are willing to do to make sure you get the best experience. I cannot stress enough: DO THE PREWORK!!! Expect 2 hours of homework. DO THE HOMEWORK!!! It WILL be worth it! Thank you Mrs. Ortega for doing what you do and for being the person you are. You are truly unique in a world of monotony. I can't wait to come back and take the next course!

I took the test in... read more 2 parts ,yesterday 5/21/2021 was my last test. I received my passing results the next day.Mrs. Ortega is gifted by God to instruct plus she gives you a wristband that has a scripture from the bible to motivate you on her "keep it moving" wristband that says. I can do all things in Christ that strengthens me.God bless you Mrs. Ortega. I passed my first time.

I took the MCA online courses for both the CPC and COC preparation. Honestly, she has been an unexpected blessing in my life this year. I have no doubt whatsoever that God intervened in my discovering her class. She is an amazing teacher. I am going to get my CRC and CPMA certifications next.
