I watched every video on Medical Coding Academy's channel and became convinced that medical coding could be the new career I needed. Still, I was a little skeptical. How could I learn all the tools I needed to become a certified coder in three days when the other programs I researched required one to two years? The task seemed impossible until I read reviews from her former students. Like me, they had their doubts in the beginning, but after experiencing Mrs. Ortega’s unique method of teaching, I decided that if all these people could do the unthinkable, so could I. I registered for the three day course that took place in February and now, less than a month later, I’m CPC certified! I passed the exam on the very first try. Before the course, I had absolutely no knowledge of the medical field. Becoming certified took a lot of hard work on limited sleep, but it was all worth it. Mrs. Ortega is a miracle worker and I can’t wait to earn more certifications under her steadfast tutelage. I was struggling trying to pass the CPC (Certified Professional Coder) exam. Then when a friend mentioned Mrs. Ortega’s class the “Medical Coding Academy” to me; yes, at first there was a little doubt but I had to walk out on faith and trust the God in me. After watching her videos on the internet and reviews and reading all the posts I was sold on taking her class. I decided she’s the one who will take me to the next level of my career in coding. I signed up immediately. She’s now my teacher, my instructor and my mentor in Medical Coding. She took me and the entire class under her wings and boy did we fly. In 3-days of boot camp in Dallas, Texas on November 17th – 19th she broke the body down from head-to-toe and then we took the EXAM the following day on the 20th. We became the Professional Coders she built us up to become. YES, yes, yes I PASSED on the 1st try after taking her class!!! I’m so excited that I’m CERTIFIED! She is the absolute truth when it comes down to skillful teaching. She’s not the norm, she’s a gift from God. She knows her stuff. She not only teaches it; she lives it, she breathes it and she produced it. I’m telling you if you are struggling in trying to pass the CPC exam you need to sign-up TODAY and take her class. She’s the #1 Lady in the land that I know of, who will give you all the tools you need to become that successful medical coder you’ve dreamed to become. When she says, “write this down…LOL” you better write it down or you’ll miss something very intriguing in your studies. I just want to say thank you so much Mrs. Ortega for being such an amazing teacher. Your passion, devotion, and kind spirits kept me uplifted and wanting to learn more. I decided to take the MCA online program due to me being a single mother of 3 and I did not want to travel due to covid. I had my 3rd baby girl February of this year and decided to enroll into Mrs. Ortega's MCA program shortly after that. I knew it wasn't going to be easy but something deep down told me I could do it. I was ready to start my new career in medical coding and make a better life for my children. I know it was nothing but God giving me that push that I needed. It was difficult getting into the motions of working, doing my school work / studying while being a mom to a newborn and 2 toddlers. It felt like it was going to be impossible to do my MCA assignments but I pushed those negative thoughts aside and decided to make a schedule. It took me a little longer to finish but on October 16th I finally took my CPC exam and within a few days I found out I passed. At first I was kind of disappointed in myself because I passed with a 73% but then I thought about everything I been through to get to this point and was just happy that I actually passed on the first try.
