This course is intense, you will need to dedicate yourself to it and nothing else. If you do that , you too WILL pass on the first try. She teaches you what you need to know to beat the test. Time saving strategies. She definitely teaches you how to work smarter, not harder. If you are on the fence, pick the medical coding academy side. You won't regret it. Thank you Mrs. Ortega.

  • This review is long over due. I took Mrs. Ortega's course in NY back in March when I was looking to supplement my income as Hairstylist. I didn't have any experience... read more in anything medical except for 3 chapters I read in my cosmetology book years ago. I did some research in December and found Mrs. Ortega on youtube, I watched almost every video, I was completely drawn to her because I saw how passionate she was. I then told a friend (who btw was going to take a 10 month course) about Medical Coding Academy, we both signed up for the CPC class in march. During my exam I literally heard Mrs. Ortega's voice when I started to get nervous (had a small moment of fear & yes you will be taught how to deal with your nerves); immediately I remembered what she taught. I just want to say that my friend and myself passed our exam and we are now Certified Professional Coders. I'm certainly going back for that alphabet soup (if you don't already know what this means, you need to find out!). Mrs. Ortega is so positive, caring, and extremely passionate about what she does, she is a God send.

I recently became a single mother and was forced to find a new career that could be more conducive to my current lifestyle.... read more I was interested in the medical field and began researching coding. I came across her on YouTube and was instantly intrigued with her passion for teaching. She is all that she claims to be and more. She breaks down coding to the simplest form. She is a master at her craft. You will learn more in 3 days then you could ever gather in a 3 year program. You will NOT regret this investment. With that being said, the best advice I can give anyone who is contemplating signing up because " it sounds too good to be true", stop questioning it and give her a call. It is definitely too good but it is all true. It was the most informative 3 days of my life and I had never opened up a coding book before her class. Make sure you follow all her instructions and do ALL the prework and homework she gives you prior to showing up on day 1. There is a method to her madness and it will make all the difference in the world for those 3 days.

Opening books not knowing what I was doing to feeling like I could (and I can) walk in any job and code like I've been doing it my whole life. Don't take my word for it. Just see for yourself!!!

At first I honestly believed that there could be NO way that someone could... read more learn medical coding in three days, take the certification test, and then most likely pass it on their first try. How ever, Mrs.Ortega does an AMAZING job of breaking down the books and guidelines for you and explains to the best of her ability everything that you REALLY need to know. It happens so fast but you will be amazed how much you can learn in a day. Just make sure you do all the required book work and you'll be golden. Give it a shot, I promise it won't hurt to try!

  • If you're someone looking for something real and something strait to the point in this field of work, MEDICAL ACADEMY is for you. No time wasted on anything that is... read more irrelevant to what you will need to know because Ms. Ortega will teach you the important information. Her unique tabbing system will help you get to know your book and how to easily code what you should code. But that's not to say coding will be a piece of cake after taking her class, because it is very challenging. What she will teach you is just half the battle, the remaining will be entirely up to you. The input/effort you put in will help determine your success in this field of work. The best part about taking Ms. Ortega's class was her passion that she had while teaching all of us. She didn't just teach just to teach things to get things over with, she wanted us to be able to comprehend and utilize what/why we were learning the information. Not only that, she's an instructor who cares about her students and their success in this field! And I can't stress that enough!!! She'll go out of her way, if she has to...even move mountains! :) She's a great instructor with many many years of experience and if there's anyone you want to learn from, it's her! I am so thankful to have been given the chance to have Ms. Ortega as an instructor, you won't regret it!
