I went into Medical coding academy not knowing how to code at all and walked away from this 3 day intensive training program confident and knowing how to code, and most importantly knowing the rules and guidelines to being a successful coder! I'm taking my AAPC certification exam November 2016, and I'm so ready to tackle that certification exam thanks to Delissa! Delissa has a passion for teaching and helping others and it shows! I was looking to further my education with AAPC or AHIMA and searching... read more for a school that would prepare me well for medical coding. I had no idea how well Mrs Ortega and Medical Coding Academy would prepare me. I watched all of her videos and read many student's testimonies. I could not wait to get started and I am even more grateful now that I took this class and even more motivated to continue my education. The way Mrs. Ortega has designed and organized this course is absolutely amazing. I have never had a teacher pour so much of themselves into a course with so much passion, motivation and true concern for her students as Mrs. Ortega. She has a tabbing system and homework to do before the course begins to get you prepared. The classes are three days from 8:00am to after 7:00pm with homework to do after classes totaling about 16 hours of work a day. You will learn much more in this period of time than you can even imagine. It is truly "short term pain for long term gain." I learned much more in three days than I did in many courses I've taken in college. She will give you so many tools, techniques and knowledge to pass the CPC exam (which is a real beast of an exam). If you have ever attempted to take the boards and failed, do not look any further, you will feel confident going in to your exam after taking this course, if you do all the work that Mrs. Ortega gives you and follow all of her instructions. Mrs. Ortega gives more of herself for her students than any teacher I've ever had. She works for you without ever leaving the classroom or taking any breaks. She even works to help her students during break times. During the three days of class, her top priority is each and every one of her students. I have had no experience in the coding field other than one previous course and I feel confident that I passed the CPC exam. There are people with experience who have failed the exam 10, 11, 12 times, and then passed on there first try after taking Mrs. Ortega's class. I am so grateful for this experience and for meeting such a wonderful teacher and person. If you are looking to pass your certification exam and open doors for yourself and those you care about, then don't hesitate to further your education through Medical Coding Academy

Admittedly, I had doubts about my... read more abilities to learn everything I needed to pass my board exam within only a 3 day weekend course, along with absolutely zero experience in medical coding and billing (not to mention never laying eyes on a single code prior to class). I am the type of person that likes to explore all my options and see everything out as they are. I am telling you now, DO NOT GO THE LONG WAY AROUND THE MOUNTAIN!!! Sign up for her course, it is only for your own good! Absolutely everything that is pertinent to passing the board exam is covered within your 3 days with Mrs. Ortega. Do not waste your ENERGY, MONEY, or TIME with any other program, whether it is a vocational school or online program. You will only be hurting yourself in the end. You will not gain the essential and practical knowledge needed to pass your exam, become certified, and land a job. Mrs. Ortega is absolutely your best coach, and breaks everything down until she makes you completely understand, before moving on. Both her and her staff have an incredible response time, and work around the clock to take care of their students. They absolutely have your best interest at heart while you are a part of their program. She is such a genuine and good-hearted person, and wants to make sure every single one of her students succeed. I know walking out of class that I will absolutely pass my Board Exam on the first try. Long story short, take the plunge, YOU WILL THANK YOURSELF LATER!! �
