  • I was a skeptic too... resist the urge to listen to the whole “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is”. This IS the exception!! 3... read more days to a CPC it’s true! All of the staff and instructors at Medical Coding Academy have a heart for the students! They don’t take your investment lightly! They invest in you and give you all the strategies to succeed! My best advice if you are on the fence... RUN don’t walk and sign up! When you sign up do ALL of the Pre-work and classwork, it is essential to your success! If possible I recommend staying on site even if you are local (you’ll be glad you did). It really is AMAZING!

  • For the last 10 years I have been a stay at home mom and I'm so blessed to be able to do that. Last summer I was told about a... read more lady who travelled the country and taught medical coding in a weekend. I thought if something is medically related, how can it be taught in a weekend? I hemmed and hawed about it and decided to try it. I had no medical background other than personal and familial experience. She and her wonderful staff sent me a packet and to be completely honest, I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of information that they expect you to have completed before you even get there. Acting on faith I completed every thing and made the drive to Dallas for her class. It was intense to say the least! Mrs. Ortega is one of the most amazing women I have ever met. Due to unforseen circumstances, I was unable to test before the end of the year when guidelines changed. Months later I decided to try again and I'm so glad that I did. Mrs. Ortega is one of those people you just have to like. She's so talented and giving. She really cares for each and every one of us that comes her way. If you don't understand something she will sit there and explain it till you get it. She's not one of those people who are just in it for the money. This is a very lucrative market and she's the best at making sure you get in it! She really goes above and beyond what most teachers are willing to do to make sure you get the best experience. I cannot stress enough: DO THE PREWORK!!! Expect 2 hours of homework. DO THE HOMEWORK!!! It WILL be worth it! Thank you Mrs. Ortega for doing what you do and for being the person you are. You are truly unique in a world of monotony. I can't wait to come back and take the next course!

She has so much knowledge and cares for her students. The pre-work and after class homework totally worth the time and effort. I am that person that earned the 2 year Associates Medical Billing and Coding Degree/ Summa Cum Laude. Took the board exam twice and failed. Through the university I learned countless office and AHIMA’s policies but no coding or exam prep. I am still paying the school’s debt and no medical billing and coding certifications yet. I wish I had known of MCA’s courses and save me time and money. I can’t wait to test and post an update. A big shout out to the MCA team as well Mrs. Landers, Mrs. Underwood, Mrs. Newbbie and Mrs. Belen were all so kind and helpful.

When I tell you... read more that this was one of the best investments of our money and time, I am not exaggerating!! Mrs. Ortega and her wonderful team of Belen, Angelica, Ladonna and Susan were beyond great. Words cannot express the feeling we have for them. I will not lie, the 3 days are challenging but so worth it! I am more than confident that my wife and I are overly prepared to take the CPC that we are scheduled for this upcoming Saturday, and we will pass it the first time!!! The energy of the class and the staff is so loving and helpful and inspiring. It’s like the family you didn’t know you had. If you are new in the industry or struggling to pass your CPC certification, YOU NEED TO BE HERE! You will not regret it. I will definitely be back for my COC, CRC, CPMA and the rest of the “alphabet soup”. Keep it moving!!!!

Thank God for the VA for paying that bill and it wasn’t even close to preparing me the way Mrs. Ortega did for the CPC. I am here to give her due for the course she has designed and if you are serious about your career MCA is where you need to be. It’s intense as I just mentioned but worth more than we paid.   • I want to take a minute to thank God for putting Mrs. Ortega and her Medical Coding Academy in my path. Before this course I was at a point in... read more my life where I had experienced many difficult moments and I didn't know where I was headed, I felt a bit lost in life. I am a single mother of an amazing 5-year-old boy, my biggest blessing by far. As you may understand I need to provide for my child so one night I was on YouTube and decided to search for Medical coding schools (I've always been interested in the medical field, but I know nursing isn't what I wanted to do, so I was looking for medical coding schools). I was scrolling through the videos reading the titles waiting for one to catch my attention, and I read 'Medical Coding: The Ugly Truth About Vocational Colleges'. I watched the video and immediately became interested in everything Mrs. Ortega had spoken about in her video. I watched every single video on her YouTube page. I knew then and there I had to take her CPC course. I began to look into the course and the dates, Mrs. Ortega wasn't going to be in Indianapolis, In (where I reside) until October 2017. That was way TOO long for me. I knew in my heart that God had guided me to her Academy for a purpose and I couldn't ignore it. I looked at all the other cities she would be in in February 2017, and Miami Florida was the next one. Without doubt in my heart and mind I spoke with my mom (my support system, my biggest fan) and told her I needed to take the course. My mom backed me up me and together we drove 18 hours from Indianapolis, IN to Miami, FL. It was the best decision of my life. It was worth every sacrifice I made to make it to that classroom on Friday morning. I felt the passion she has for what she teaches in every word that she spoke. You can see in her eyes how genuine she is about helping you. I loved every second in that classroom. I will be taking my test in 4 weeks and I feel beyond positive that I will pass it thanks to everything I learned in Mrs. Ortega's course. I will definitely be taking other courses with Mrs. Ortega to keep adding certifications to my name. Thank God for Mrs. Ortega she has truly been a blessing in my life. Let her be a blessing in yours as well.
