From the get-go, I knew from the YouTube videos that if I was going... read more to learn medical coding the ONLY person who could teach me would be Mrs. Ortega. I don't like being confused by 'fluff' and left hanging, not knowing what information is important over other information, etc. or just plain boring classroom instruction or online instruction. I was RIGHT. Mrs. Ortega is far from boring and she doesn't fill you up with fluff. She gets right down to the essentials. The 12 hours FLEW by. I enjoyed every second of it. I learned so much more than I ever imagined. I feel 100 percent confident in not only passing my CPC on the first try but I also feel very confident in entering the field. Mrs. Ortega is the real deal. She is the ONLY instructor for me. I look forward to taking more classes with her when I am ready to attain additional credentials. Thank you Mrs. Ortega for your knowledge, teaching expertise, and the sacrifices you make to travel to us!!! Medical Coding Academy is set apart from other schools because Mrs. Ortega puts God first in her life, her business, her teaching, and she prays for her students!! At first I honestly believed that there could be NO way that someone could... read more learn medical coding in three days, take the certification test, and then most likely pass it on their first try. How ever, Mrs.Ortega does an AMAZING job of breaking down the books and guidelines for you and explains to the best of her ability everything that you REALLY need to know. It happens so fast but you will be amazed how much you can learn in a day. Just make sure you do all the required book work and you'll be golden. Give it a shot, I promise it won't hurt to try!

  • Update 1/26 I PASSED.. on the FIRST try!!! ************** I just finished Ms Ortega 3 day class & took the exam on the 4th day. And if I can do this... read more at 7 months pregnant, anyone can! First of all, I know I passed! How? Because of her anointed teaching! It was a ton of hard work & long days, but it was also really fun and absolutely worth it! Ms Ortega literally runs on adrenaline.. while we're taking bathroom breaks, she is there helping. She doesn't use the bathroom or eat AT ALL so she is 100% committed to her students! That is pure dedication & it takes a very blessed person to do that! She not only teaches how to use your books to pass the exam, but also how to apply her method as a real "go-to" coder. She's truly amazing! I went in nervous and left confident! If you're on the fence, jump it & get to Ms Ortega class asap! You will NOT regret it! And you will have made a friend in the process �. P.S. Do the prework & homework. You won't do well without it being done �. There's a system to the madness, I promise! Take a leap of faith & just DO IT! You won't regret it & wish you had done it sooner! I'll definitely be taking more of her courses to earn my "alphabet soup"!
