She has so much knowledge and cares for her students. The pre-work and after class homework totally worth the time and effort. I am that person that earned the 2 year Associates Medical Billing and Coding Degree/ Summa Cum Laude. Took the board exam twice and failed. Through the university I learned countless office and AHIMA’s policies but no coding or exam prep. I am still paying the school’s debt and no medical billing and coding certifications yet. I wish I had known of MCA’s courses and save me time and money. I can’t wait to test and post an update. A big shout out to the MCA team as well Mrs. Landers, Mrs. Underwood, Mrs. Newbbie and Mrs. Belen were all so kind and helpful.

God put her in my pathway. Of that I am sure! Ms. Ortega is exactly the same in person as she is on YouTube. She is passionate about what she does, she is un-matched as far as subject matter knowledge goes, and her enthusiasm shines through. A word of warning: It is a very intense three day boot camp. When she talks about that in her videos, that is no joke!. However, you will be amazed at how much you learn and retain through it all. Her methods for navigating the CPC exam WORK! I promise you they do! Ms. Ortega always says in her videos that she's a text away. She is absolutely telling you the truth. I have to confess, I didn't pass my CPC on the first attempt. I didn't manage my time well enough. However, as soon as I let her know that I didn't make it on the first try, she was on the case. She helped me with extra practice cases, with advice, and with a patience and kindness. Today, I got a wonderful Christmas present when I found out I had passed the CPC. It truly is a beast! As a teacher myself, I here want to say that Ms. Ortega has in a full measure the most important quality a teacher has to have and that is she has a true servant heart. One last thing. If the cost is causing you to doubt whether you should do this or not; if the need to possibly travel to Dallas or to a city near you; if timed tests make you nervous like they do me, do not listen to the doubts. Do what it takes to get signed up for the three-day course. You'll never be sorry you did. And please do the pre-work before you show up for class. You'll be very glad you did.

Granted this 3 day class was a very intense class, it was well worth the sleep less nights. The knowledge that Mrs. Ortega delivered is priceless. Ok so I’ve taken the CPC test in the past and just couldn’t pass it!! But after the 3 day workshop with Mrs Ortega this weekend, I KNOW I passed it this time!! And I don’t just know I passed it, I’m pretty sure I aced it!! Yay!! Words can’t describe how awesome this lady is!! Listen to what she says, then do what she says and you’ll have those three letters behind your name in no time! She gives you the tools you need to succeed and She loves her students and wants the very best for them. DONT be like my past self and think you can eventually pass it on your own!! I already have a coding certification but I was lacking the depth concept, listening to Mrs. Ortega explain cases, rationale answers finally a light bulb went off. All these years I’ve been hesitant to obtain my CPC...shame on me! I’m ready to go for CPMA next!! Do NOT waste your money on any other school, MCA is worth the investment!!!

How can a three day class get you a career in medicine? I needed something like this to get a career instead of a job. So I researched the field. I researched the school. I read the reviews. I even reached out to former students, because when something sounds too good to be true... (sorry Ms Ortega I was one of those). Now, I'm a true believer! This lady can teach! And she does it with passion, class, and humor. You WILL work hard and you WILL learn. Her passion for you to learn will inspire you to meet this challenge. You'll have fun too! Medical Coding Academy is the absolute best way to become a coder. The staff at the academy do a wonderful job helping you to prepare for the class.
