Took... read more the test for the third time in Dallas with Ms Ortega and I passed with 78%. I learned with Ms Ortega in 3 days than I did in 10 weeks. If anybody is looking to become coder I would truly recommend Ms Ortega.

I don't... read more know how she managed to fit so much course material into those 3 days, but she made it happen. She is prepared beyond belief with slides and lectures that explain medical coding in a way that even someone brand new to coding can understand. She expects her students to be as prepared to learn as she is to teach, so DO THE PRE-WORK! Once you register for the class, you will receive a packet of instructions from Medical Coding Academy. This is called the pre-work. It does take many hours to complete, so don't wait until the last minute to start. It may seem like a hassle while you are working on it, but it is definitely worth it! I believe it is the second reason I got so much out of he class. The first reason is Ms. Ortega herself. She seems to have 2 passions in life, one for coding and one for teaching. This combination makes her a clear choice when deciding who to entrust with your career education. I first met Ms. Ortega by pure luck. She just happened to be the instructor for an ICD-10 class I attended a few years ago. I knew then that whenever I decided to sit for the CPC exam, she was the only one I would trust to help me prepare. I am so thrilled that she has taken her class on the road and that I was finally able to attend! I am registered to take the CPC exam in less than 3 weeks. I'll be doing the homework she gave me and feel confident that I can pass. Thank you, Ms. Ortega. You've been a blessing to me!

You are given everything you need to be prepared to take AND pass the CPC exam the very first time. She is inspiring, exciting and REALLY knows her stuff. With a score of 90%! How awsome is that? I havr absolutely NO medical training or experience. I'm your average factory worker. If I can attend this course and pass with flying colors on the first try, anyone can. If you come with an open heart and mind you can take a major step in the direction of a new career. Not to mention that I've places a few applications as soon as I received my scores. And I've already have a call back. As soon as I land a job I'll update this review again. I said EVERYTHING Mrs. Ortega told us in class. If not for certain staff being out on long vacations I'm sertan I would have started sooner. But my 1st official dat of work was today. And let me tell you, I was better prepared that I knew. I couldn't have done this without Medicaid coding academy. Nope, it wouldn't have happened. With this program I was not only given the tools to pass my exam but land my first coding job! If your not convinced then your not ready for a career in this field. Plain and simple!

Half the people around me had tried the AAPC course route and found it too convoluted too. Now be prepared to WORK, but its worth it! If you sit down, keep your mouth shut and just absorb everything she says you will walk away from this class knowing you can do this. I would highly recommend her class to a person willing to show up and work, NOT COMPLAIN. I am already looking at which one day class I want to come take first for when I pass this test. I will say it again, JUST TAKE THE CLASS!

I just took the 3 day prep course in Minnesota for CPC taught by the wonderful Mrs Ortega.It was the most intense class I have ever taken in my life... read more but totally believe that it was well worth the time & money spent. You would spend thousands of dollars more going to a community college & more than likely not have the knowledge that you gain once you take one of Mrs Ortega's classes. If you think- how can I possibly gain that much knowledge in such a short amount of time to pass such a difficult exam? YOU CAN!! I've NEVER in my life had such a dedicated teacher-Mrs Ortega is AMAZING!! A word to the wise though-DO EVERYTHING Mrs Ortega tells you & you will pass your exam-the pre work is the key to your success. Thank You Mrs Ortega for such a wonderful experience!!
