I honestly had my doubts, but went on Faith. My Faith did NOT let me down. As she stated herself, Ms. Ortega is truly anointed in all facets of providing ALL that's needed to pass the CPC exam. I was looking to further my education with AAPC or AHIMA and searching... read more for a school that would prepare me well for medical coding. I had no idea how well Mrs Ortega and Medical Coding Academy would prepare me. I watched all of her videos and read many student's testimonies. I could not wait to get started and I am even more grateful now that I took this class and even more motivated to continue my education. The way Mrs. Ortega has designed and organized this course is absolutely amazing. I have never had a teacher pour so much of themselves into a course with so much passion, motivation and true concern for her students as Mrs. Ortega. She has a tabbing system and homework to do before the course begins to get you prepared. The classes are three days from 8:00am to after 7:00pm with homework to do after classes totaling about 16 hours of work a day. You will learn much more in this period of time than you can even imagine. It is truly "short term pain for long term gain." I learned much more in three days than I did in many courses I've taken in college. She will give you so many tools, techniques and knowledge to pass the CPC exam (which is a real beast of an exam). If you have ever attempted to take the boards and failed, do not look any further, you will feel confident going in to your exam after taking this course, if you do all the work that Mrs. Ortega gives you and follow all of her instructions. Mrs. Ortega gives more of herself for her students than any teacher I've ever had. She works for you without ever leaving the classroom or taking any breaks. She even works to help her students during break times. During the three days of class, her top priority is each and every one of her students. I have had no experience in the coding field other than one previous course and I feel confident that I passed the CPC exam. There are people with experience who have failed the exam 10, 11, 12 times, and then passed on there first try after taking Mrs. Ortega's class. I am so grateful for this experience and for meeting such a wonderful teacher and person. Mrs. Ortega truly has a gift, the way she teaches is one of a kind. She is the best teacher I have ever had. She is tough and she doesn't accept excuses. Her strategies and well thought out class gets you WELL prepared to pass the CPC on the first try. My exam was last Saturday and I passed the CPC exam with flying colors. Mrs. Ortega even provides support after the class, if you need her all you have to do is text her. Let me tell you! The boot camp was intense the work before class that has to be done is serious, then you have homework while in class. It took 3-4 hours each night. I was exhausted, but it was well worth it because I passed on my first try. I had a coworker take a local community college course and she failed the CPC exam. Mrs. Ortega gives you a fail proof plan, there is no way you will not pass if you do EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING she tells you. Mrs Ortega is the real deal... For the last couple of months I have been wanting to change my career. I always knew I wanted to do medical coding but... read more didn’t want to spent all this money and all these months going to school when life is just so busy already . I did a lot of research on different schools in my area and even online classes but I kept getting disappointed with what I was seeing .. So one night, literally one week before Mrs Ortega was to held her 3 day course in Orlando I stumbled upon her program. After reading all the wonderful reviews and seeing her YouTube videos something inside of me told me to go for it and sign up! And boy I’m so glad I listened.. I just finished the online coding course and passed the mock exam (mock exam, flashcards and textbook included in the course). This course is absolutely incredible. Mrs. Ortega and her... read more team did an amazing job with the production and put together a jaw dropping amount of information and materials for each student. Mrs. Ortega is thorough and decisive throughout the course. She keeps your attention and is very to the point, focusing in everything you need to pass the board exam. The 350 Cases textbook is honestly a blessing. It breaks down each and every case so you can easily understand the material and Mrs. Ortega is with you every step of the way going through all 350 on video with you. She clarifies everything with ease and to the best of her ability for full understanding. I would love to attend the 3-day course as well just because!-Double the learning but this will unfortunately depend now on the covid situation. Regardless, even if I can't attend the 3-day, I know with the MCA coding online course I have been given all the information I need to sit for the board exam. Listening and doing everything Mrs. Ortega says and putting in the work is key! After finishing the course and being an MCA "Go-To" coder, I know that I have a huge advantage to passing the national exam over the traditional classroom student.
