I’ve been thinking about a career change but wasn’t really looking to get into a 2-yr degree course and came across Medical coding academy and Mrs. Ortega. I knew it was just the thing I was looking for and it is one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself in my life! Mrs. Ortega is the real deal, she is a no nonsense, driven, and passionate about her teaching and about her students becoming go to coders!! I know this is going to change my life for the better and am excited for the future! If you’re on the fence or unsure about taking this class, I would say to you, get off the fence and do it! Go for it!! Take a chance on yourself, you might surprise yourself. Mrs. Ortega trains you and gives you the tools you need to pass your exam. I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. Half the people around me had tried the AAPC course route and found it too convoluted too. Now be prepared to WORK, but its worth it! If you sit down, keep your mouth shut and just absorb everything she says you will walk away from this class knowing you can do this. I PASSED!!!!!!!!! Recently I completed Mrs. Ortega’s 3-day CPC course followed by the exam on the fourth day in March 2018. Mrs. Ortega’s class is amazing and a godsend. I... read more have no medical background at all and passed the CPC certification exam with an 86% and am now a certified coder with career options. To give you some background, I have taken the certification exam twice, the first time I did not completely follow Mrs. Ortega’s direction and ended up running out of time. Whenever I would get to the correct answer in less than 30 seconds, and you will, I would second guess myself and go the long way around to verify if the answer was correct. I did myself a disservice by doing this and ran out of time with 30 questions left that I had to randomly guess at. This time around, I followed Mrs. Ortega’s instruction to the letter; I got to the right answer in less than 30 seconds on most of the questions, did not second guess myself and trusted Mrs. Ortega and finished the exam with about 40 minutes to spare. I recommend Mrs. Ortega’s 3-day CPC coding course to anyone interested in becoming certified and asking you to believe what she is telling you, it is all true. The 3-day class is a lot of work, but has a huge payoff. Mrs. Ortega would say, “A short term pain for a long term gain.” This is very true and can change your life.

I have tried classes with the AAPC and that didn't work. Then I did a class online with Penn Foster. It wasn't teaching me what I needed to know. As single mom I was desperate for change and even having experience in the medical field I wanted and need more. I came across a comment in facebook Group from the AAPC how this lady went to MCA. And she accomplished 3 credentials in 6 months. I was like no way. I read Mrs. Oretega reviews and watched her Youtube videos. All of them. I was like there is not one bad comment. I jump out in faith paid for class pack my bags and got to the next class. Which was Orlando Florida on 04/26/19. Mrs. Oretega is the most passionate teacher I have ever met in my entire life being 33 years old. She is straight to the point and she pushed me.
