I havent been disappointed the entire course and I am so excited to say i just finshed all of the 350 cases and my exam is a few weeks away. Im doing the mock exam in a couple of days. I work in the denial dept at a multi providers office and when i showed the coding supervisor my books (because i was so proud of them) and told her what i was doing i got very negative comments. She went to a technical school and paid lots of money. Now when i see a denial and i know its out of sequence or the modifier is wrong they totally get mad with me and say you arent certified so dont tell us how to code. I was only trying to help. But i will be certified soon and that is all with Mrs Ortega's help and the passion she puts into this academy. She truly has been touched by God to do this. I cant tell you how happy I am. I got very sick a few years ago and lost everything my home my car my job and my self confidence. Now i will be able to get a job with flexibility and pays enough to get myself back to my normal. I just want to say thank you so much Mrs. Ortega for being such an amazing teacher. Your passion, devotion, and kind spirits kept me uplifted and wanting to learn more. I decided to take the MCA online program due to me being a single mother of 3 and I did not want to travel due to covid. I had my 3rd baby girl February of this year and decided to enroll into Mrs. Ortega's MCA program shortly after that. I knew it wasn't going to be easy but something deep down told me I could do it. I was ready to start my new career in medical coding and make a better life for my children. I know it was nothing but God giving me that push that I needed. It was difficult getting into the motions of working, doing my school work / studying while being a mom to a newborn and 2 toddlers. It felt like it was going to be impossible to do my MCA assignments but I pushed those negative thoughts aside and decided to make a schedule. It took me a little longer to finish but on October 16th I finally took my CPC exam and within a few days I found out I passed. At first I was kind of disappointed in myself because I passed with a 73% but then I thought about everything I been through to get to this point and was just happy that I actually passed on the first try. The days were very long and there were late nights doing homework but if you do the work you too will pass. She will do one on ones during your 6 minutes break instead of eating or going to the bathroom for herself. She will do whatever it takes to make sure each student succeeds. I learned more than i could imagine in just 3 days. I feel completely prepared for my board exam and It is all because of Mrs. Ortega and Medical Coding Academy.
