I took the class this pass weekend and it was stressful and overwhelming but in a good way. The first night I wanted to cry cause it was a lot of homework but I knew it was the best for me. First, let me say that I was very skeptical about doing it. I found the Academy on You Tube and most people would find it very unlikely that it could work. But my gut told me to go for it! I flew to Dallas from MN and took the 3 day CPC course. I'll admit I was very nervous on day one. What if I made the wrong decision? I am very happy to report that Mrs. Ortega is exactly as she appears online and her class is exactly as she describes it. Now, if you are looking for the easy way…this isn’t it. If you are looking for the smart way, then you’ve found it! The reason this works is because the curriculum is put together intelligently and effectively. It’s not magic, it’s strategy and very hard work. I was able to go from absolutely no knowledge of this industry to taking the CPC board exam and finishing 45 minutes early in only 3 days! It's not a vacation. Be prepared to be thinking hard and absorbing information all day every day. Then enjoy getting to use that education immediately at the exam! I feel such a sense of accomplishment and I can’t thank the staff at MCA enough. These people work so hard for us, it’s crazy! I’ve gone to community college before, and I never got from it what was provided in these 3 days. Mrs. Ortega teaches this course because it is her passion and she cares about helping people in the way she knows how, and you don’t find that very often. We had no idea that this lady was about to blow our minds with everything she had to give and offer. When I say she was heaven-sent I'm not kidding she was a blessing to our minds and she taught us what we needed to learn in 3 days at the medical coding Academy to be the best coders that we can be. She has opened our minds to a lot of things and I’m very blessed to say that GOD BLESSED US!!!! People, this lady was GOD sent to all of us. When it comes to teaching she is like no other. She believes in what she does and her students.
