Go in knowing that this class is hard work, really hard work, but it is also satisfying, especially when the things that confused you so much on day 1 start to make sense and by day 3 you're practically speaking another language. Don't be scared off by the fact that it is going to be a lot of work because for everything that you are doing, your instructor is doing more. When you go to break Mrs. Ortega stays behind to answer questions. She is determined to make sure that everyone in the class succeeds and she believes in you from day 1, even if you don't! One of the most important things that Mrs. Ortega will teach you is how to get out of your own way and believe in the excellent system that she teaches; and it is worth every penny, every hour you sit in the classroom, every minute of sleep you loose working on the pre-work and homework. I can tell you with absolute confidence and without reservation it is worth it. I took the exam yesterday and I cannot fully explain the sense of joy and relief you feel when you go to a code and there is a notation or highlight that helps guide you to the answer. You will be thanking the Lord that you found this class and Mrs. Ortega! Really there are only 2 reasons not to take this class: 1: You enjoy wasting time and money and 2: you don't really want to pass the exam. So unless you enjoy paying to sit in a room with strangers and be confused for 5 hours TAKE THIS CLASS!

I took the 3 day course in Tampa Dec 1-3. Mrs. Ortega is a great teacher she truly believes in her students she made me a believer day 1. I took my test on the 4th day. I passed on the first try. If you still thinking about it don’t think anymore it’s worth every penny. Mrs Ortega will not disappoint.

Did I tell you I hate Facebook! Anyway, let me explain to you the character of Mrs. Ortega and how her actions in her Momma Coder programs speak volumes about her.. Towards the beginning of her career as an instructor she noticed the struggles and disappointments of her students not being able to pass their boards. So, it saddened her deeply and she wondered there has to be more she could.do ...well here you have it folks, she has taken so much time out of her life to possibly make things easier for example she has her own book color code tabbing system that alone is work!! She makes coding look easy and pulls all the important information out. And makes understanding easier! She has catchy phrases and ways of helping you remember things . I don’t know very many instructors or people for that matter . That would do all this for strangers.. Her students at which she has never met but cares so very much about!! You are truly the BEST thanks for your patience , positivity and phone calls that pulled me through getting my certificate!

I’ve been thinking about a career change but wasn’t really looking to get into a 2-yr degree course and came across Medical coding academy and Mrs. Ortega. I knew it was just the thing I was looking for and it is one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself in my life! Mrs. Ortega is the real deal, she is a no nonsense, driven, and passionate about her teaching and about her students becoming go to coders!! I know this is going to change my life for the better and am excited for the future! If you’re on the fence or unsure about taking this class, I would say to you, get off the fence and do it! Go for it!! Take a chance on yourself, you might surprise yourself. Mrs. Ortega trains you and gives you the tools you need to pass your exam. I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. Mrs. Ortega is the bomb dot com!! It was a blessing to be a part of her class and learn from the very best!!! I know everything I’ve learned from her is valuable to my future as a Certified Professional Coder.

Yes, I did have doubts, and people tried to discourage... read more me, but that didn't stop me from making a huge life changing decision. Totally worth the $$. I am signing up for more "alphabet soup" as Mrs. Ortega calls it. Mrs Ortega and her staff ROCKS!!! Incredibly helpful, they know their stuff. If you choose to take any class, and I pray you do, DO THE PREWORK BEFORE THE CLASS! If I could make that statement bold and underlined, I would. Many people didn't do the prework, and had a hard time staying with the class. I had a blast. Yes, the days are long, but it's a little pain for a long term game. I'm 46, and I was able to keep up lol. Have a BLESSED day.
