Even though she was going through her own career... read more struggles at that time she put her students before herself and helped guide them in the right direction for their careers. She is the most loving and caring person I have ever known. She has come such a long way and has done it all just to help others. I consider her my mentor. She is just absolutely an amazing person. She is not in this industry for money or even for herself, she is doing what she is doing because she loves to help others and that is the most important thing to think about when looking for a school; if they truly care about their students. And Ms. Ortega and Medical Coding Academy cares about each and every one of their students. Not only does she want to teach you but she wants to make sure you pass your exam on the first try when finished with her courses and get into a wonderful and growing career and succeed. She is the best with her lessons and getting the information across to understand and remember. I highly recommend Medical theCoding Academy over any other billing and coding school. They do in person classes and online classes and Ms. Ortega is the best when it comes to teaching people! Even if you have doubts about whether choosing Medical Coding Academy or not they always have someone available to talk to to answer any questions. Please don't pass up the opportunity to learn from Ms. Ortega. I promise you that you will not regret it and will have such a great future in this career field if you learn from her! And will have fun while learning as well. Once again, an absolutely amazing school and an even more amazing teacher!

All of the staff and instructors at Medical Coding Academy have a heart for the students! They don’t take your investment lightly! They invest in you and give you all the strategies to succeed! My best advice if you are on the fence... RUN don’t walk and sign up! When you sign up do ALL of the Pre-work and classwork, it is essential to your success! If possible I recommend staying on site even if you are local (you’ll be glad you did). It really is AMAZING!

She is VERY passionate and... read more VERY serious about her teaching & her students. Please do all of your pre-work, homework, and classwork or you will not benefit. It is very INTENSE but by day 3 you will be as confident as she is about passing your board exam. I plan on taking two more training classes with her in Dallas, that is how confident I am in her training. Thank you again Mrs Ortega.

  • For the last 10 years I have been a stay at home mom and I'm so blessed to be able to do that. Last summer I was told about a... read more lady who travelled the country and taught medical coding in a weekend. I thought if something is medically related, how can it be taught in a weekend? I hemmed and hawed about it and decided to try it. I had no medical background other than personal and familial experience. She and her wonderful staff sent me a packet and to be completely honest, I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of information that they expect you to have completed before you even get there. Acting on faith I completed every thing and made the drive to Dallas for her class. It was intense to say the least! Mrs. Ortega is one of the most amazing women I have ever met. Due to unforseen circumstances, I was unable to test before the end of the year when guidelines changed. Months later I decided to try again and I'm so glad that I did. Mrs. Ortega is one of those people you just have to like. She's so talented and giving. She really cares for each and every one of us that comes her way. If you don't understand something she will sit there and explain it till you get it. She's not one of those people who are just in it for the money. This is a very lucrative market and she's the best at making sure you get in it! She really goes above and beyond what most teachers are willing to do to make sure you get the best experience. I cannot stress enough: DO THE PREWORK!!! Expect 2 hours of homework. DO THE HOMEWORK!!! It WILL be worth it! Thank you Mrs. Ortega for doing what you do and for being the person you are. You are truly unique in a world of monotony. I can't wait to come back and take the next course!

Before this course I was at a point in... read more my life where I had experienced many difficult moments and I didn't know where I was headed, I felt a bit lost in life. I am a single mother of an amazing 5-year-old boy, my biggest blessing by far. As you may understand I need to provide for my child so one night I was on YouTube and decided to search for Medical coding schools (I've always been interested in the medical field, but I know nursing isn't what I wanted to do, so I was looking for medical coding schools). I was scrolling through the videos reading the titles waiting for one to catch my attention, and I read 'Medical Coding: The Ugly Truth About Vocational Colleges'. I watched the video and immediately became interested in everything Mrs. Ortega had spoken about in her video. I watched every single video on her YouTube page. I knew then and there I had to take her CPC course. I began to look into the course and the dates, Mrs. Ortega wasn't going to be in Indianapolis, In (where I reside) until October 2017. That was way TOO long for me. I knew in my heart that God had guided me to her Academy for a purpose and I couldn't ignore it. I looked at all the other cities she would be in in February 2017, and Miami Florida was the next one. Without doubt in my heart and mind I spoke with my mom (my support system, my biggest fan) and told her I needed to take the course. My mom backed me up me and together we drove 18 hours from Indianapolis, IN to Miami, FL. It was the best decision of my life. It was worth every sacrifice I made to make it to that classroom on Friday morning. I felt the passion she has for what she teaches in every word that she spoke. You can see in her eyes how genuine she is about helping you. I loved every second in that classroom. I will be taking my test in 4 weeks and I feel beyond positive that I will pass it thanks to everything I learned in Mrs. Ortega's course. I will definitely be taking other courses with Mrs. Ortega to keep adding certifications to my name. Thank God for Mrs. Ortega she has truly been a blessing in my life. Let her be a blessing in yours as well.
