I took it, learned so much in 3 days and passed the CPC exam on my 1st try!!! This is a huge accomplishment for me. One of my old supervisors saw that I passed and immediately asked me for my resume. She currently works for BCBS a Medical Auditor. Thank you sooo much for this amazing experience and I'll see you for that Alphabet Soup! �

Before I share... read more the news I have to tell the complete story as to why this is a big deal for me. Many of you know or have read my previous post about my recent success ( taking Mrs. Ortega’s 3 Day CPC prep course and passing the board exam on the 4th day ) through the Medical Coding Academy in January of this year. I had shared a little bit of my story about how I had taken the CPC exam a couple of times ( prior to attending Mrs. Ortega’s 3 Day CPC course ) and failed. What I didn’t say, was that i had already been working as a Medical Coder for roughly a year and a half. When I got hired I was made aware that I must have my coding certification within 1 year of employment or I would loose my job because the organization only wanted individuals that are certified . I was also made aware that once I became certified I would get a promotion. I took on the challenge because I was certain that I could get my certification within 1 year. At that time I was enrolled in a coding program at a local technical college. When I took the CPC exam for the first time and failed I was about 6 months into employment. This happened at the end of the year which meant tests were limited and most test sites were already at capacity. I waited about 3-4 more months before I re-took the CPC exam the second time and failed. At that point the pressure was really weighing heavy on me because I knew that I had to get that certification in order to keep my job and I was rapidly approaching my 1 year of employment/deadline. At my 1 year evaluation I was given an extension on getting my certification. That’s when I sought the Medical Coding Academy. You know the rest of the story but, I honestly feel like MCA was a blessing to me and I am/will be forever grateful the experience and the time/effort that Mrs. Ortega puts into her students. The great news that I want to share with you all is that I recently received my promotion and my supervisor gave me a “ shout out” this week at our morning huddle for my name being listed under the “Magna Cum Laude “ section of this months AAPC magazine ( was going to add the pic that I took of my name in the magazine but I don’t see the option to add an attachment/picture). It was a great feeling to be recognized and well worth the stress and anxiety. Lol.. Sorry, for the extensive post but, I felt like it was necessary and I hope that my story might encourage someone who’s in doubt or feeling discouraged. I also want to mention that I recently registered for the CPMA ( Certified Professional Medical Auditor) through MCA. Wish me luck and stay tuned for another successful story. Be blessed y’all!!

I did a lot of research by checking the reviews and watching her YouTube videos, and they are all 5 star which is a pretty remarkable feat in this day and age. I not only had the opportunity to meet Mrs. Ortega but was blessed to be able to sit and complete the 3 day CPC boot camp and it was one of the best decisions I could have made. I now know that I can do this. I thank Mrs. Ortega for being such an amazing person and teacher. She will educate you PROPERLY and with the information that she gives during this course, you will then be prepared and ready to take the exam and actually know what you are doing. She is a true blessing. I am now CONFIDENT and ready to take the exam in 2 weeks. Thank you Mrs. Ortega for taking me from 0 to 100. I know that I am equipped with what I need to smash this exam and I owe it to the Medical Coding Academy. Thank you Mrs. Ortega for showing me how to "keep it moving"! See you on the coding side!!!!

Mrs.Ortiga is an amazing teacher and she has a best teaching style.... read more Her course is completely organized. I'm new to coding and I have zero coding experience. I attended the 3- day course at Dallas, Texas (end of July) and sat for the exam on the 4th day. Well folks, I PASSED on my first try. Now I'm a CPC-A. All thanks to Mrs.Ortega and Medical Coding Academy. Without Mrs.Ortega this wouldn't have happened. This class is a real big deal. The course is intense, you'll have to work hard and no doubt that the results are so rewarding. I'm so grateful to Mrs.Ortega and MCA for providing me with all the materials and knowledge that gave me confidence to take the board exam on the very next day and now I'm CPC-A.
