  • I PASSED!!!!!!!!! Recently I completed Mrs. Ortega’s 3-day CPC course followed by the exam on the fourth day in March 2018. Mrs. Ortega’s class is amazing and a godsend. I... read more have no medical background at all and passed the CPC certification exam with an 86% and am now a certified coder with career options. To give you some background, I have taken the certification exam twice, the first time I did not completely follow Mrs. Ortega’s direction and ended up running out of time. Whenever I would get to the correct answer in less than 30 seconds, and you will, I would second guess myself and go the long way around to verify if the answer was correct. I did myself a disservice by doing this and ran out of time with 30 questions left that I had to randomly guess at. This time around, I followed Mrs. Ortega’s instruction to the letter; I got to the right answer in less than 30 seconds on most of the questions, did not second guess myself and trusted Mrs. Ortega and finished the exam with about 40 minutes to spare. I recommend Mrs. Ortega’s 3-day CPC coding course to anyone interested in becoming certified and asking you to believe what she is telling you, it is all true. The 3-day class is a lot of work, but has a huge payoff. Mrs. Ortega would say, “A short term pain for a long term gain.” This is very true and can change your life.

I took it, learned so much in 3 days and passed the CPC exam on my 1st try!!! This is a huge accomplishment for me. One of my old supervisors saw that I passed and immediately asked me for my resume. She currently works for BCBS a Medical Auditor. Thank you sooo much for this amazing experience and I'll see you for that Alphabet Soup! �

I’ve been thinking about a career change but wasn’t really looking to get into a 2-yr degree course and came across Medical coding academy and Mrs. Ortega. I knew it was just the thing I was looking for and it is one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself in my life! Mrs. Ortega is the real deal, she is a no nonsense, driven, and passionate about her teaching and about her students becoming go to coders!! I know this is going to change my life for the better and am excited for the future! If you’re on the fence or unsure about taking this class, I would say to you, get off the fence and do it! Go for it!! Take a chance on yourself, you might surprise yourself. Mrs. Ortega trains you and gives you the tools you need to pass your exam. I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. The decision to register was difficult due to finances; however, it was one of the... read more BEST decisions I’ve ever made. Mrs. Ortega’s teaching passion was evident from the beginning of the bootcamp until the very end. She was answering questions even as she was leaving to catch her flight. She is an AMAZING teacher. Not only did she explain coding techniques, but she also shared a wealth of knowledge on what to expect in the real world of coding. She encouraged, motivated and challenged us not to stop at a CPC credential, but to pursue additional credentialing (which I will ONLY do through MCA). I had taken two other coding classes prior to MCA and neither educated me the way Mrs. Ortega and the assigned required pre-work has. Yes, you will have to put in the work, but I’m pleased to report that I PASSED the exam on my second attempt after being only 4 points off on my first attempt. First, Praise be to God and second, Thank You Mrs. Ortega. I’m already preparing to register with MCA for my next certification. If you’re contemplating on whether you should register with MCA, I pray my review will assist you in that decision. Let 2020 be the beginning of something NEW. From the first minute, it was clear that Mrs. Ortega... read more was passionate about the industry and wasn't afraid to talk about the ins and outs, whether positive or negative, of the business. I watched every video on Medical Coding Academy's channel and became convinced that medical coding could be the new career I needed. Still, I was a little skeptical. How could I learn all the tools I needed to become a certified coder in three days when the other programs I researched required one to two years? The task seemed impossible until I read reviews from her former students. Like me, they had their doubts in the beginning, but after experiencing Mrs. Ortega’s unique method of teaching, I decided that if all these people could do the unthinkable, so could I. I registered for the three day course that took place in February and now, less than a month later, I’m CPC certified! I passed the exam on the very first try. Before the course, I had absolutely no knowledge of the medical field. Becoming certified took a lot of hard work on limited sleep, but it was all worth it. Mrs. Ortega is a miracle worker and I can’t wait to earn more certifications under her steadfast tutelage. If you are where I was, unsure and wondering if the impossible is possible, do yourself a favor and register for the course. You won’t regret it! Thank you Mrs. Ortega and the MCA team!
