  • In March 2020, I was furloughed with pay from my job and I was questioning what to do next in response to my situation and career aspirations. I saw an... read more ad in my email address from Medical Coding Academy about the online course. I’ve seen the ad before throughout the years, but this time it looked something I really wanted to do. So I contacted MCA and got my information about the program. I purchased my books (CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM) through Elsevier and I never went through with purchasing the program through MCA. I had doubts about the program, and I didn’t go through with it. So I returned the books and went through another self-paced program. BIG MISTAKE!!! Their program was so long and so boring I wasn’t able to finish it. To top it all off, I couldn’t even afford it so now I’m currently paying off the loan. On November 2020, I got an ad stating that the 2020 online course was on sale for $899. I didn’t have anything to lose, so I purchased the course and it was the best thing I have ever done! The course is put together so well. Mrs. Ortega goes over everything for example what to highlight in the book, how to tab the books, what materials you need to study every day, and online help from teachers if you need it. If you buy this program, DO EXACTLY WHAT SHE SAYS!!! If you do, you will pass your exam. I started the program November 8 and finished December 13 and took my exam December 19 and I passed my CPC exam with a 90%! I would like to thank Mrs. Ortega and the MCA team for the incredible work she has put into this program and for helping me to pass my exam and to start my new career as a medical coder.

Mrs. Ortega breaks it down so even of you haven't worked in the medical field, you will understand. I am looking forward to taking more certifications with her. I will never go to another company.   • There are just no words to describe “Mrs. Ortega” but PHENOMENAL! This spirit-filled woman was God-sent for such a time as this for me. She through God’s help... read more anointed our abilities to receive all the knowledge we needed to become successful coders. I was struggling trying to pass the CPC (Certified Professional Coder) exam. Then when a friend mentioned Mrs. Ortega’s class the “Medical Coding Academy” to me; yes, at first there was a little doubt but I had to walk out on faith and trust the God in me. After watching her videos on the internet and reviews and reading all the posts I was sold on taking her class. I decided she’s the one who will take me to the next level of my career in coding. I signed up immediately. She’s now my teacher, my instructor and my mentor in Medical Coding. She took me and the entire class under her wings and boy did we fly. In 3-days of boot camp in Dallas, Texas on November 17th – 19th she broke the body down from head-to-toe and then we took the EXAM the following day on the 20th. She’s the #1 Lady in the land that I know of, who will give you all the tools you need to become that successful medical coder you’ve dreamed to become. When she says, “write this down…LOL” you better write it down or you’ll miss something very intriguing in your studies. I have been teaching medical billing and basic coding for almost a decade and I can tell you right now Mrs.Ortega is a GOD given angel!! She taught me so much more than I ever thought possible. She has come up with the most brilliant tabbing system!! She is an amazing instructor and I tell you she will make sure she drills all of this information in your head.
