And the wonderful part about online learning is that you can go at your own pace, pause and review, and take notes as needed. I am forever grateful to Mrs Ortega and her team, because I passed that very CHALLENGING board exam 😉 and I look forward to a successful future. Well now is your... read more chance, I was so blessed to have met the Angel of what God sent as my instructor Mrs. Ortega. from MCA academy, I couldn't ask for such a humble soul who will go over and beyond to go to my hometown and teach me how to be a skill full coder and as well as knowing guidelines in the CPT manual. Just taking the time to explain and help you understand has brought me so much life in to coding that now after her 1 day COC course and 1 day course for the CPMA , I have learned so much and if it wasn't for her I would be lost and now guided properly and would of spent so much money if I would of went else where with that being said put your faith in Mrs.Ortega you will be in for treat that would be so worth it in a life time. I will be sitting in for these exams soon but will definitely post once I pass and I know it in my spirit I will. Will keep you in my prayers Mrs. Ortega please don't change and truly do follow your way when those doors open to teach and to those who will be there in that time of need .

  • I originally was VERY hesitant to sign up for any online course when you hear about all the scams out there. I signed up for a course at a... read more local school that would have taken 9 months to complete to then be prepared to take the CPC. I never researched any online courses out of fear. I then was really feeling like I was wasting time waiting for my classes to begin and started researching more. I found Medical Coding Academy and the rest is history! I requested a refund back from the school I enrolled in right away. Belen was so amazing to help me navigate signing up and answering all of my skeptical questions. I am proud to say that 3.5 weeks after starting my online courses I passed my CPC exam with an 83%! Listen, nothing worthwhile is easy. The program is not designed to rush through it etc. I was only able to finish so much coursework so fast because I studied full time at least 8 hours a day. I am currently out of work and was able to dedicate my every moment into this. Mrs. Ortega tells you exactly what you need to do. Follow her instructions. Another tip is to pause the video and work out the case prior to her going through it. Then see if you got the correct answer. This took exponentially longer but sure paid off in the long run. It is challenging but she explains it so well and in detail. It will feel overwhelming in the beginning but it all comes full circle just keep pushing. I also recorded myself reading my notes as well as flash cards. I would go walking and have them playing to help me study on the go. You will have to work but she gives you every tool you need. If you want to pass your test and understand guidelines etc then take this course. I am excited for my future and to see where this takes me! Thank you Mrs. Ortega for developing a curriculum that kept my attention and was methodical. Thank you Belen for standing by to help me with any questions or support I needed! PS I am still waiting for my prior school to issue a refund check! I already finished my course and passed my test! How amazing is that!? You get out of it what you put in so remember that!

She has the experience, the knowledge, and the passion... read more that you can count on to secure a spot as a certified Coder. The class was interactive, no student was left behind. She broke everything down and made sure you were prepared. I've tried college Coding courses, AAPC's online class, and I still failed the board exam each time (2x). Needless to say, I felt like I was never going to get my certification. But after completing the 3-day course, my confidence was sky-high. I sat in for my CPC in February 2016, and not only did I complete the exam in under the given 5 hours and 40 minutes, I PASSED!! Words can't describe how grateful I am to have met Mrs. Ortega! :)

I already have a coding certification but I was lacking the depth concept, listening to Mrs. Ortega explain cases, rationale answers finally a light bulb went off. All these years I’ve been hesitant to obtain my CPC...shame on me! I’m ready to go for CPMA next!! Do NOT waste your money on any other school, MCA is worth the investment!!!
