I have no medical experience, but after taking... read more this class I know I will pass the board exam. I'm sorry to admit that I was skeptical when I first found Ms. Ortega on YouTube. How can a three day class get you a career in medicine? I needed something like this to get a career instead of a job. So I researched the field. I researched the school. I read the reviews. I even reached out to former students, because when something sounds too good to be true... (sorry Ms Ortega I was one of those). Now, I'm a true believer! This lady can teach! And she does it with passion, class, and humor. You WILL work hard and you WILL learn. Her passion for you to learn will inspire you to meet this challenge. You'll have fun too! Medical Coding Academy is the absolute best way to become a coder. The staff at the academy do a wonderful job helping you to prepare for the class. If you do your part, you will pass the exam and have a new career. I'll update this review when I pass my exam in two weeks! Update: 6/21/2017 Passed! With an 86!

  • I took Mrs.Ortegas 3 day course in october of 2018.I watch all of her youtube videos and decided to take a chance.It was worth every penny.You have to do a... read more lot of homework and prework ,sleepless nights.But it is worth every peeny.Mrs.Ortega breaks it down in a way you can understand.I took my test on October 27th.The wait is hard.I receive a notification from aapc saying my results are ready.on November 6 i found out that i PASSED.I could not have done it without Mrs.ortega and Medical Coding Academy help.I waill forever be thankful.

  • This class and Mrs. Ortega are amazing. Really the class is what it is because your instructor Mrs. Ortega works so hard to make sure you are prepared to sit... read more for the exam. Go in knowing that this class is hard work, really hard work, but it is also satisfying, especially when the things that confused you so much on day 1 start to make sense and by day 3 you're practically speaking another language. Don't be scared off by the fact that it is going to be a lot of work because for everything that you are doing, your instructor is doing more. When you go to break Mrs. Ortega stays behind to answer questions. She is determined to make sure that everyone in the class succeeds and she believes in you from day 1, even if you don't! One of the most important things that Mrs. Ortega will teach you is how to get out of your own way and believe in the excellent system that she teaches; and it is worth every penny, every hour you sit in the classroom, every minute of sleep you loose working on the pre-work and homework. I can tell you with absolute confidence and without reservation it is worth it. I took the exam yesterday and I cannot fully explain the sense of joy and relief you feel when you go to a code and there is a notation or highlight that helps guide you to the answer. You will be thanking the Lord that you found this class and Mrs. Ortega! Really there are only 2 reasons not to take this class: 1: You enjoy wasting time and money and 2: you don't really want to pass the exam. So unless you enjoy paying to sit in a room with strangers and be confused for 5 hours TAKE THIS CLASS!

From the get-go, I knew from the YouTube videos that if I was going... read more to learn medical coding the ONLY person who could teach me would be Mrs. Ortega. I don't like being confused by 'fluff' and left hanging, not knowing what information is important over other information, etc. or just plain boring classroom instruction or online instruction. I was RIGHT. Mrs. Ortega is far from boring and she doesn't fill you up with fluff. She gets right down to the essentials. The 12 hours FLEW by. I enjoyed every second of it. I learned so much more than I ever imagined. I feel 100 percent confident in not only passing my CPC on the first try but I also feel very confident in entering the field. Mrs. Ortega is the real deal. She is the ONLY instructor for me. I look forward to taking more classes with her when I am ready to attain additional credentials. Thank you Mrs. Ortega for your knowledge, teaching expertise, and the sacrifices you make to travel to us!!!
